Abstract

Many media projects done via the Internet have either been forgotten or scattered by the author’s memories, notes in the print media or have simply disappeared as if they did not even exist. Some works are archived in libraries, on the websites of artists, or art associations. Data of them are scarce and few can still be viewed in the original. Through reinterpreting and media transformation, some of the works performed in this way, through VR technology, can be preserved, archived and available to a wide audience. Currently, there is no platform for VR archiving of such performed/reinterpreted works, and existing, mostly gaming, platforms can be used for this purpose. The aim of this paper is to show, on one example, what are the possibilities and what benefits can be obtained from such presentation and archiving of works of media art made through the Internet.
